Great first set for kids who like legos but dont have the fine motor skills required to prevent accidentally ruining their creations. I use this with my 3 year old who likes to "do legos" with her older sister but always breaks them on accident and then feels miserable about it. This set has one big pink piece on the bottom which somehow keeps everything intact no matter how hard and awkwardly she pushes down on the pieces to assemble them. The large number of accessories also helps with pretend play without needing to do a lot of building ...so even if you end up not being able to pull off the icecream truck with your child, they can still play with the umbrealla, ice cream cones, popsicles, money, cash register, mini figures, etc
For a juniors ice cream truck I don't think this could get any better. Really think about it what else would you want in a juniors ice cream truck? The build's quite fun and instantly recognizable. Some people complain at all the pink in Friends sets, but real ice cream trucks can be pink so it's fine here. Everything you would want in an ice cream truck is inside, a freezer, different flavors of ice cream, a Popsicle, cash register and a drivers seat. I'm very impressed with the addition of seating, it really didn't have to be included but just adds more value to the set. The signs including the giant ice cream are nice additions too. The figures are nothing special. Andrea is in her regular outfit (which I imagine is what kids want) and Emma is wearing Naomi's cupcake uniform. It would've been nice to see Emma have a new ice cream worker torso here, but I guess that's more of a want then a need. It's also nice to see Max the puppy again. The pieces here are really nice, the decorated pieces are prints (there's no stickers in juniors sets) and exclusive. The base of the van is also exclusive in light pink. I would recommend this to older Friends fans, while you don't get that much of a satisfying build as you would regularly the end product will look great in any Heartlake City.
